Hello!

I am Catriona - I just wanted to say a little about me and Yoga. My yoga practice started more than 25 years ago. I became impassioned with yoga, when I realised the holistic benefits of regular practice - how Yoga looked after all of me, not just my body, but also my mind and emotions - a yoga tool kit that I could use wherever I was at any one time. I found yoga extremely useful for dealing with everyday stress, especially the breathing techniques that yoga has to offer - pranayama.

I finally had an opportunity to explore yoga further in 2016 when I attended a foundation course with The British Wheel of Yoga, which I found hugely enjoyable, I immediately started training with BWY and completed their 500 hour teacher training diploma. I have been teaching yoga since 2017 here in Langholm, a small town in the beautiful Scottish Borders. We are very lucky to be surrounded by lovely countryside and getting out in amongst nature is inspiring and helps me to re-connect to what’s important. My interest in yoga has reminded me that I love to learn and so I continue to attend workshops and additional training to inform my teaching.

Testimonials…..

Good to have a quiet time twice a week just to concentrate on being in the moment. Forgetting any worries and enjoying the time to stretch and strengthen the body while at the same time letting it find its’ own point of repose and ease.

Catriona’s classes and workshops are always a joy. She explains clearly how to complete each movement or pose, never rushes and is sensitive to the needs of individuals. Her positive demeanour guarantees that your mood at the end of class will be much better than at the start.

I was a bit unsure (my first time trying yoga) but Catriona’s detailed instruction for each pose is great with constant reminders to listen to your body and not push it too far too quickly. I felt I was definitely working at my own pace /level. And a big shout out for the meditation sections where I completely lost myself and actually relaxed for the first time in a long time.

I really like the way Catriona designs each session with a different theme so no two are the same. The seasons go by and I feel the yoga principle of harmony of body and mind seeping into me

Catriona’s yoga class is a perfect balance of meditation, breath work, yoga postures and relaxation. I feel both relaxed and energised after each session.

I have attended Catriona’s classes for almost three years, starting as a total novice, and I really feel that I have learnt so much. My long term back issues have improved significantly and I am so much more flexible. Not only have I found yoga good for my body but also for my mind, I have a very stressful job and now have new ways of dealing with this. Catriona is a great teacher, very personable, warm and friendly.

Meet Tucker!

I have to mention him - Tucker dog has been my main walking companion during the pandemic and has helped keep me sane! He’s a lovely boy, full of life and you’ll see him feature in my photos, especially when I’m out and about (usually carrying a stick). He pops up on my mat from time to time too !
